When a intruder alert is triggered, Lowe’s Iris system will only send text, emails and call your list of contact. This would mean that you would need to reach out to the local police department. Dialing 911 will make sense if you are near by, but if your out of state or country then dialing 911 isn’t effective. Calling your next door neighbor to dial 911 will just delay the process.

To overcome this situation, make sure you have your local police department’s phone number. In New York City it is also recommended to do so if 911 is busy.

So regardless of what system you have, it might be be a good idea to have your local police and fire department’s number handy.
