I logged into the Lowe’s Iris portal today and notice the pop up message.
When you try to add a new device you will also notice the following in the list.
I’ve also clicked on the devices to display the installation instructions for the Smoke & CO Detector and the Tilt Sensor.
Hopefully they will be released soon!

I noticed that the siren and outdoor camera are on the store now too!
Cool! I notice it’s not on the website yet. Which store did you find it? I’ll have to check out mine soon.
I meant the web store. I haven’t seen any Iris items in my local store yet. Search lowes.com for Outdoor Camera and Iris Siren and you’ll find them. The Siren is out of stock online for $30 and the Outdoor Camera is in stock for $150.
Got it! I see them now.
Well I’ll be! I checked their online inventory and a bunch of sensors, fobs, and other accessories are showing up in my local store!
Cool. I know they were expanding to more stores. Good to hear!
Thanks for giving me the idea to start searching their web site.
Found the smoke detector and smoke/CO detector on their site too!!
I’ve updated post to location of Lowes.com site for both smoke and co/smoke detector.
Anxious to get a tilt sensor installed, but I’m about to try a hack so that I can remotely control my garage door opener (not with Iris, but with Cell phone) remotely. Is there any plans to expand the Iris systems with this capability?
Love the system but every day, I get a “camera cannot be detected” followed almost immediately with a “device has been reconnected.” Timing between disconnect and reconnect is less than 1 second. I wish I could keep this from occurring!
Robert,
Regarding some kind of garage door opener with Iris. I don’t recall seeing anything like this coming out, but if I do I’ll make sure to post about it!
As for the disconnecting and reconnecting of your camera. I’m taking a guess that it has to do with your wireless range, but if it does this all the time and if it seems it just reconnects again quickly then maybe you can just remove the notifications, which is under the “contacts” section where you can just uncheck the option for message preferences for “system”.
I understand this is just masking the problem for now but at lest you don’t have to get these notifications all the time. I hope that helps.

I think the garage door opener would be a great benefit. As for the disconnect, I don’t think it is a range issue–they are 20ft apart and I am using a new N-speed router. I’d hate to lose a notification when it went down for good, though… Thanks for the quick response! Love the system!
Another thing you might try is setting what’s called a DHCP reservation on your home wireless router. It might be a long shot but maybe the DHCP lease is expiring after 24 hours and setting a reservation or static IP (not sure how to do this because I don’t have a camera) might resolve that.
Roberto,
It seems Iris will have a garage door opener soon. So looks like it’s in the works.

So has anybody installed a tilt sensor yet? Are they available now? My question–can you program the Iris to give you a longer amount of time to get inside the house and key in your passcode? The standard 30 sec I don’t think would be sufficient to open the garage door, park, get out of car, into house. I’d be content just to have the tilt sensor logged since my garage/house door is on a regular door sensor which will trigger the alarm. Does this make sense? It would be nice to be able to confirm that I didn’t drive off and leave the door up! 🙂
I haven’t found the tilt sensor yet. As for the delay time from trigger to alarm. I know it was set to max at 60 seconds but I just took a look now and it also has 5, 10 15 minutes now.
To get to this screen you can review my post about what is partial alarm. I have screen shots on how to get to those options if you scroll down a bit.

As for what you are trying to do, I guess we have to see what features this tilt sensor will have once it releases.
I’m excited for the new products!!!! Can’t wait! Thanks so much for keeping us updated on this. Just ran across this website today and will definitely continue to look on here for any updates 🙂
Same here. I can’t wait for these products to be out!
Excited!
Smoke and co are super important to me!
Excited too. I notice I can order them online and they are on the way! Will see if it will already work even though it says its coming soon.
Would a motion detector attached to the garage door provide most of same function as the new tilt product?
Supposedly the idea is to sense that you left the door open. A motion sensor wouldn’t help in that regard. Contact sensor seems like it would however.
I currently have a motion detector for my garage too, but always wonder if one day a strong wind can cause the garage door to move and will trigger the motion detector.
To me the tilt device may be more accurate, and I wonder what other use they can be used for too.
I have a contact sensor on my garage door set to only trigger the alarm when it’s set to partial (night mode). On the alarm overview screen you can review if the sensor is closed or open. If sensor shows open, the garage door is open, shows closed the door is closed. You can only view the alarm overview screen from the desktop version not the mobile device version of the software.
With the exception of cost is there a reason you would NOT purchase the smoke and carbon monoxide detector instead of the detector that does not sense carbon monoxide?
Not sure if it’s 100% accurate but I’ve heard lately that combination detectors aren’t very good at the carbon monoxide part. The best I’ve been told is to get dedicated CO detectors and mount them closer to the floor. Carbon Monoxide is denser than regular air so the lower the detector is, the better. Having it on the ceiling means the room is filled with Carbon Monoxide when it reaches the top of the room. I think for $10 I’ll get the combination but I still have a detected First Alert CO detector that plugs into a receptacle in each room someone is sleeping.
Phil,
For me it seems that any devices with CO only will last for 7 years and is recommended to replace them, which is why you will notice that the smoke/CO combination only has a 7-year limited warranty while the stand alone has a 10-year limited warranty.
When is the garage door tilt sensor coming out? I’ve called iris and she told me to go to lowes and ask the guy in the garage door department. Those guys don’t know anything. Nice costumer service huh!!!
I haven’t heard of any yet.
