I’ve received a release note regarding this new hub update by a member of the Iris team, whom I hope can introduce to you one day.
It seems this release was to resolve a very specific issue which would cause the hub to lose connection and for some a full reset of their account and hub resolved this problem. I didn’t experience this myself but I have seen comments, and emails regarding this issue.

Hub Firmware Version 3.06r83:
- Fixes an issue to prevent hubs from being separated from the customer’s Iris account under unique circumstances.

This is a welcome fix which hopefully nobody else will ever experience. I also hope we will keep receiving these release information from Lowe’s going forward so we don’t need to guess what is being addressed with each new hub update.
Pingback: Update: Iris Hub Upgrade v3.06r83 Available | Iris Users
Received a call from Iris Support tonight reference my open tickets for:
1) History not up to date (works during the day, reverts to last day of previous month in evening)
2) Range extenders low or no signal
3) magic rules for care alarms not working on cue
They are working on issue one and two.
Updates to software expected by March 2014.
I’m sure many of you are also looking forward to this.
Did the update without any issues. Signal with the range extenders continues to be an issue and the history issue still comes and goes. IRIS support also told me that the connectivity issues/signal issues whilst the range extender are being looked into and an update will be coming to hopefully fix this.
Since the upgrade, history on the home page appears to be working correctly but when you go to history it is stuck on Jan 31st.
Since the upgrade, I’m unable to add devices. The web site still says my hub needs to be updated. I’ve tried several times to update, and it always comes back to 3.06r83. Can’t add my new devices now! Anybody else seeing this?
I have constructed an IRIS device laboratory , after testing 3 range extenders none extended the range. If IRIS is to succeed they need to make available a signal strength meter..like the ubiquitous Wi/Fi meters. Often they are included in the WI/FI device. LIcking one’s finger and holding it in the air does not works well.
My home lab is anew 1 year old home with metal 2×4 studs and concrete block exterior walls. This construction maybe trouble for Z-wave. That could be fixed by providing a OSI-layer 1 transport over house wire or WI/FI
see search OSI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSI_model.. What smarthouse provider will win the race?
